The community university football player Emanuell Cooks died of medical complications after a football match in Mississippi this week.
Friday, the death of Cooks’s was announced in a press release published by the Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC).
Cooks of Elba, in Alabama, was a first -year offensive line player, according to his profile on the MDCC website.
Cooks died after playing a match against Hinds Community College in Raymond on Thursday.

The declaration of the college does not specify the cause of the death of the cooks.
“Our whole Trojan family is devastated by this loss,” said MDCC president Steven Jones in a press release. “Right now, our deepest thoughts and prayers are with the family, the teammates, the coaches and the friends of Emanuell. We will come together as a community to support each other through this tragedy.”
The college offers support services to students, teachers and staff.

In a statement published on Friday, the president of the community college Hinds, Stephen Vack, described the death of cooks “a reminder that gives to think how much our time here is precious here”.
Cooks is the last secondary school or athlete to die in 2025.
