Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) said Thursday that flight operations at Lahore and Sialkot airports had been temporarily suspended, in light of the current tension between Pakistan and India.

The airports of Lahore and Siackot will not be available until 12 noon today, the PAA said in a press release.

Consequently, the authority added that passengers should remain in contact with the airlines relevant to the last situation,

In addition, flight operations at Karachi and Islamabad airport have also been suspended until 12 hours today, the airport authority said, adding the Airpersons (NOTAM) notice.

According to the PAA, flight operations at Islamabad airport have been temporarily suspended for operational reasons.

The authority made the decision in the increased threats of the intrusion of the forces of India into Pakistani airspace.

In addition, several mainly Asian airlines have announced that they canceled and reduce certain flights after Indian strikes to the territory of Pakistan, degenerating the crisis between nuclear arms.

The images of the flight tracking sites after the attack showed a long line of airlines passing over Oman, the United Arab Emirates (Water) and Kuwait, raising the possibility of congestion of aerial space.

Pakistani authorities said 57 international flights operated in Pakistan airspace when India hit.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in a statement that India’s action “had caused a serious danger for commercial airlines” belonging to the Gulf countries and “lives in danger”.

Earlier Wednesday evening, the PAA confirmed that all airports were operating normally across the country.

In a statement, the PAA said that national airspace had remained open and safe for national and international airlines.

It is important to note that before, flight operations have remained suspended for almost eight hours due to increased tensions between Pakistan and India in the main airports of the country, including Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.

Pakistan had suspended flight operations in the main airports after the attack on India inside the country on Tuesday evening.

The armed forces of Pakistan killed five Indian Air Force (IAF) jets, a combat drone, and destroyed the siege of the brigade after India has made missile strikes in cities in Punjab and Azad cashmere.
