  • The security forces give the tribe to the tribe to leave Bajaur for the operation.
  • No talks with terrorists until they submit to the state: security sources.
  • Terrorists using negotiations as a smoke screen to prepare for war.

Peshawar: The security forces have presented several options to the tribal jirgas in Bajaur for negotiations with the Khawarij – the Tehreek -e -Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – when an operation is carried out if the terrorists do not leave the area, The news reported on Saturday.

The first option, according to security sources, asks the terrorists to leave Bajaur, while the second option relates to the evacuation of the tribes for the operation so that the Khawarij can be ended.

Rejecting all types of talks at government level with terrorists and their facilitators in Bajaur, the sources have excluded negotiations until the militants submit to the state.

In addition, the sources noted that deliberate efforts were made to create an ambiguity in the discussions on the tribes and the Khawarij in Bajaur, while the realities of the soil were quite the opposite.

The terrorists, they said, used negotiations as a smoke screen to prepare for the war and lived among the general population of Bajaur while engaging simultaneously to terrorist and criminal activities.

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Minister -in -Chief Ali Amin Gandapur and security officials, presented three points to the tribes:

  • These Khawarij, most of whom are Afghan citizens, should be expelled from the region.
  • If the tribes cannot expel the khawarij themselves, they should leave the area for one or two days so that the security forces can put them in their end.
  • If these two steps are not possible, maximum effort will be made to avoid harming ordinary citizens, because the operation against the terrorists will continue in any case.

The sources have also said that the Tribal Jirga is a logical step to ensure public security before the operation. However, neither the religion, nor the state, nor the values of the courageous people of KP authorize any compromise with the terrorists – the enemies of Islam and the State.

Security sources have clearly indicated that only the State has the power to carry out any type of armed action. They said that last year there were 600 terrorist attacks in Pakistan, which had the financial and operational support of the Afghan Taliban.

The prospects for an operation in Bajaur come while the country has witnessed an increase in terrorist activities since 2021, in particular in KP and Balutchistan.

According to a report published by Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), a reflection group based in Islamabad, there were 78 terrorist attacks across the country in June, which left at least 100 deaths.

Among the deaths were 53 security staff, 39 civilians, six activists and two members of local peace committees.

A total of 189 people were injured, including 1,26 members of the security forces and 63 civilians.

In total, violence and operations led to 175 deaths in June – including 55 security staff, 77 activists, 41 civilians and two members of the peace committee.

The security forces were engaged in ongoing anti-terrorist operations throughout the country and eliminated 33 terrorists supported by India who try to infiltrate the country of Afghanistan in the Zhob of Baloutchan on Friday.

A large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives has also been recovered, said inter-service public relations (ISPR) in a press release.
