Jake Retzlaff has found a new house in university football.
The former quarter of Byu loudly undertook to transfer to Tulane, according to ESPN.
Retzlaff was checked by Tulane, which included their title IX office, adds the report. He will be considered a walk-on when he comes out on campus, and Retzlaff will have to compete for the starting role.

This decision by Retzlaff, which begins its fifth and last year of eligibility for the NCAA, comes after an official withdrawal from the school on July 11. He left university and the football program due to the team’s plan to suspend seven games for having broken the school code of honor.
“After a lot of prayers, reflection and conversations with those I trust, I made the decision difficult to officially withdraw from Byu and the Byu football program,” posted Retzlaff on Instagram.
“Byu said more for me than football. It was a place of growth – spiritually, mentally and physically. I am grateful to each teammate, coach, staff member and fan who supported me along the way.”

Retzlaff was involved in a trial in May, where a woman accused her of rape in November 2023. Retzlaff denied this allegation, saying that it was a consensual sex.
The lawyers of Retzlaff and the woman who accused him submitted a joint request last month before the 3rd district court of Salt Lake City to reject the case, according to several reports.
The joint request is due to “the prejudices and against the bottom of the plaintiff’s complaint against the defendant”, which results in the applicant who cannot rely the prosecution.

Byu is led by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Saints of the Last Days, and engaging in consensual prenuptial sex is a violation of the Code of Honor of the School. It is a strict set of rules that asks students to “live a chaste and virtuous life”, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
Although Retzlaff is not a Mormon, not all students registered in Byu must follow the code of honor. Thus, after a year of eligibility as a graduate student, Retzlaff could continue to ensure that he is playing a full season before a potential jump in the NFL.
Retzlaff joins a team of Tulane trained by Jon Sumrall, with which he has the story after being recruited in Troy before choosing Byu. Although the familiarity is there, ESPN reports that Sumrall does not put the reins back to Retzlaff, because it will have to win the starting role before that.

It was a season in small groups for Retzlaff in 2024, because he led byu to a file of 11-2 with 2,947 yards with 20 affected.
The Green Wave team from Sumrall went 9-5 in their first season with the team, and they hope to improve with a new potential quarter in Retzlaff under the center in 2025.
