I loved the original crossing of Garmin’s instinct. A robust intelligent watch with analog hands, he used Redrive technology to obtain precise timing information from the Garmin satellite network, adjusting his hands accordingly. When you wanted to use the features of Smartwatch, a pressing button removed the hands from the screen. It was great in its simplicity.
As a person with a weakness for the G-Shocks Casio and the best Garmin watches, the crossing of the instinct looked like a wedding of the two in the best possible way. I gave him 4.5 stars in my crossover review Garmin Instinct, and that made my list of the best hybrid smart watches to buy.
He was impassable – he stayed on my wrist and was very bewitched – and probably too expensive for what he was, but I tried honestly. I just thought it was cool.
Imagine my excitement when I learned that Garmin makes another! Like the original crossing of the instinct was a version of the Garmin Instinct 2, the Garmin Instinct Crossover Shares the Design Ethics of the Garmin Instinct 3 – which I also evaluated very strongly in my Revue Garmin Instinct 3. It abandons the Pixel Dispute Display with Low Watch Digital Watch in favor of a brighter amolded display and wraps up the LED pocket lamp Integrated by Garmin Instinct 3.

A new feature for Garmin Watches is the journalization of the lifestyle, allowing users to record triggers such as caffeine and alcohol in the same way as the marking system of our or the Whoop journal. This can help provide a context for erratic readings of heart rate and sleep. The battery life is strong but not surprising for Garmin, at 14 days in SmartWatch mode.
However, the real attraction remains the physical analog hands fueled by Revodrive technology and the charm of having an “appropriate” watch which always contains all the features of a garmin. As users strive, sleep and recover, they always get all the advanced readings that a Garmin watch provides. Revodrive hands are a neat tip, and they are mainly cosmetics of function – they actually limit the information indicated on the new AMOLED screen.
But damn it, it looks cool and I want one, especially in this new black and orange color. This reminds me of robust construction equipment.
The Garmin Instinct AMOLED crossover is available now, from $ 649.99 (around £ 475 / $ 975 in). A tactical edition with Garmin’s military features as an instant killing switch is also available, which costs $ 749.99 (around £ 550 / $ 1 100 in).
