Rawalpindi:
The investigation into the high -level attack dossier of May 9 saw its investigation agent replaced for the second time, the police sources confirmed on Monday.
The case, recorded at the RA Bazaar police station, appoints the founding president of PTI, Imran Khan, and other key party leaders as accused.
According to sources, Inspector Tariq Gondal has now been appointed as a new head of the GHQ attack under the anti-terrorism law.
Inspector Nazim Shah, the second previous investigator, retired after completing his mandate, while the first officer, Mirza Javed, was redeveloped from the investigation after his promotion to the DSP.
Inspector Tariq Gondal, already as an investigating officer in two other cases of May 9, will now take care of the GHQ attack affair. He also invited the attack to the Waris Khan metro station and cases related to the riot, the criminal fire and vandalism at Liaquat Bagh Chowk on May 9.
Retirement inspector Nazim Abbas has given the entire investigation record to Inspector Gondal, including the case file, the list of witnesses and record declarations.
Sources have added that during the next trial hearings in prison of the GHQ attack case, the newly appointed officer will present the full file in court. All accused released on bail will also be officially informed by official correspondence.
