Islamabad:
Pakistani citizens can now travel to 32 countries without a visa or with visa access on arrival, following a significant improvement in the world classification of the Pakistani passport.
According to the latest data published by the international classification platform Henley & Partners, the Pakistan passport is currently classifying in the 100th worldwide, a jump compared to its 113rd position in 2021.
Improvement is considered to be a reflection of increased diplomatic awareness of Pakistan and the evolution of international relations.
Development comes only a few days after Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (water) signed an agreement allowing holders of diplomatic and official passports of the two countries to travel without the need for a visa.
The bilateral arrangement eliminates visa formalities before traveling to eligible travelers, further strengthening diplomatic links between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi.
In a position on X, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar said that he had signed an agreement with his water counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on “an exemption from mutual visa for holders of diplomatic and official passports of our two countries”.
“This important step reflects our shared determination to further strengthen our fraternal links and deepen institutional collaboration at all levels,” he added.
He came after the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (Mou) on the exemption from Mutuel during the 12th session of the joint ministerial commission of Pakistan-Uae (JMC).
The officials claim that this decision will facilitate high -level official commitments and will reflect growing confidence and cooperation between the two nations.
