- Here is another sign that the Pixel 10 arrives
- It could be the fastest starting pixel to date
- Expect what it appears in mid-201025
The Google Pixel 9a was formalized earlier this week, but we are already well in the rumor season for Pixel 10 due later this year – and the handset appeared in the Android code base, with a hint of useful speed upgrade.
As spotted by Android Authority, the Pixel 10 was appointed in the Open Source Android project code (AOSP). This is the code on which all the different Android flavors are based, including Pixel software and the Samsung user interface.
In addition, changes in the start -up process on the Pixel 10 apparently lead to the start of the handset faster, according to a Google engineer – although the device is only in the first stages of the tests at the moment.
It seems that it is due to something called the parallel loading of the modules, which essentially loads different bits of Android by one side, rather than both – as you may have guessed from the name. The Pixel 10 displays an improvement in speed of 30% in this particular part of the starting process, depending on the code comments.
Camera upgrades
This will not be exclusive to the Pixel 10, no more: the loading improvements for parallel modules should also be deployed to other recent Android handsets. It may well be included as part of Android 16, which is planned in the middle of 2025.
As for the Pixel 10, this could well appear in August – which would be a careful game 12 months after the launch of the Google Pixel 9 series. To date, however, we have not heard leaks and rumors too much.
We have seen some leaks in terms of internal model numbers and code names, but they are not particularly exciting. Rumors are more interesting that the Pixel 10 could be delivered with camera upgrades, including an additional rear camera.
While the Pixel 9a abandoned the emblematic rear camera bar to which we got used to the Pixel series, it will most likely make a return to the Pixel 10 phones. We can expect several different models to come back again, in particular – perhaps – a successor to the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
