- Pixel 9a landmarks appeared online
- Some – but not all – scores correspond to Pixel 9
- The handset could be launched this month
If the rumors that we have heard so far are exact, we could see the official launch of the Google Pixel 9a next week – and new benchmarks that appeared online give us an idea of the type of performance that we can expect.
These references come from Tipster @Karoulsahil (via Notebookcheck), and are probably from a device that is tested somewhere, before complete revelation. Statistics include an Antutu score of 1,049,844 and geekbench scores of 1,530 (Monocore) and 3,344 (multi-cores).
Although this Antutu score is in the same direction as the existing Google Pixel 9 phones – which you expect, since the Pixel 9A should run the same Tensor G4 processor inside – the Geekbench scores are sort of far from the flagship phones that Google unveiled last August.
There could be several reasons for this, the main one is most likely to be that it is a Pixel 9A pre-lanociation software which has not yet been properly optimized. There may be some hardware adjustments which must also be manufactured.
The price is correct?

Given the history of this series of mid -range phones – see our review Google Pixel 8a, for example – it is unlikely that we are too surprised by what Pixel 9a has to offer in terms of performance, when it finally appears.
As a rule with these phones, the internal specifications were comparable to the flagship models that preceded them, while cost savings were made in design and materials. This makes it a more affordable choice if you do not want the most expensive pixel phones that Google has to offer.
As always, prices will be crucial. The Pixel 8A was launched for a starting price of $ 499 / £ 499 / $ 849 in, and it seems that the model of 128 GB of the Google Pixel 9a will correspond to this. However, we also heard that the variant with 256 GB of storage will cost a little more than its predecessor.
It seems that there is a surprising design decision on how we will have to be reconciled: Google apparently gets rid of the classic bump of the Pixel camera, so it will have a background than the phones that preceded it.
