Islamabad:
The federal government has appointed Nadeem Mahbub Teaching Secretary as the acting president of the Higher Education Commission since the end of Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed’s mandate.
The Ministry of Education has published an official notification of the appointment which specifies that the appointment of Nadeem Mahbub will be made for three months or until the appointment of a permanent president of HEC.
Nadeem Mahbub is also a member of the HEC commission and on this basis, the Prime Minister appointed him acting president under subsection 3 of article 8 of the HEC law. According to sources, the former president of HEC made various appointments and transfers yesterday. Mahbub will assume the responsibilities of President HEC today as well as the training of the secretary.
