The authorities of the Kurram district have demolished four other bunkers in the context of continuous efforts to enforce a local peace agreement, while rival factions should organize a second round of talks in Peshawar today, according to Express News.
According to district officials, the abolition of bunkers takes place as agreed, the latest demolitions taking place at Balish Khel and Anarkali using explosives.
Until now, a total of 26 bunkers have been dismantled, with other operations in progress.
The authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to implement the Kohat peace agreement, which aims to stabilize the region. Measures such as escorted convoys are also introduced to ensure public security.
Meanwhile, sources told Express News that after a key meeting in Islamabad, rival factions will meet again in Peshawar for new negotiations.
The first discussions covered security problems and the excessive use of social media.
The next Jirga will focus on detailed peace talks and confidence strengthening measures between opposite groups.
The martyred police officer of injuries in Kurram’s attack on AC
