The government imposes a partial curfew in S Waziristan

The authorities imposed a partial curfew on several routes in the upper and lower district of southern Waziristan to ensure public security in the midst of security problems.

According to a notification issued by the reservoir sub-commissioner, the curfew will be applied to the Beni Zai Ragzai in Jandola, Tanai and Sarokai on the roads of Jandola in southern Waziristan. In addition, Cadet College Road will remain closed from the Wana Zalai camp during the curfew period.

According to the official notification, a complete restriction on the movement will be in place on March 17, 2025 (Monday), from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Meanwhile, the roads leading to Kod Qila, Manzai, Khargai, Ahmed Wam and Jandola will remain closed to all kinds of traffic.

The authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the security forces and to strictly respect the curfew restrictions to avoid any disadvantage or risk of security.

Police fought two terrorist attacks on Dadiwala and Pezu police stations in the Lakki Marwat district on Friday evening. According to officials, heavily armed terrorists have launched attacks against the two stations, but the police retaliated in force, forcing the attackers to flee. No victim has been reported in either incidents.

In addition, an IED explosion has targeted a police vehicle on Landi Wah Road also in Lakki Marwat. The driver and an agent suffered minor injuries in the attack. An attacker was killed in the action of reprisals. Police launched a man’s hunt for other attackers.

In other violence, terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on several police stations on Saturday and three security forts in the Tank district. According to reports, the terrorists targeted Kot Murtaza Post, FC Fort on Kamar, FC Fort Murtaza and the Gomal police station. Intense shots and explosions have created panic among the local population.
