The price of gasoline was increased to RS272,15 per liter, with an increase of Rs 5.36 per liter. Meanwhile, diesel prices increased to RS284.35 per liter, increasing by RS11.37 per liter. This marks the third consecutive increase in bimonthly prices.
In a statement, the finance division said that the government had revised the prices of petroleum products according to the recommendations of the Authority for Petroleum and Gazière (OGRA) and the ministries concerned.
Products | Existing price WEF July 1 | New price WEF July 16 | Increase |
High -speed diesel (HSD) | RS272.98 | RS284.35 | RS11.37 |
MS (petrol) | RS266.79 | RS272.15 | RS5.36 |
During the previous fortnight, the fuel rate was increased by RS8.36 per liter following the fluctuations in international crude oil prices. The price of diesel was also increased by RS10.39.
Fuel plague small vehicles, ripens and bikes, which makes the price increases particularly difficult on medium and low-income households depending on daily trips.
On the other hand, a substantial part of the transport sector depends on the high -speed diesel. Its price is considered to be inflationary due to its widespread use in trucks, buses, trains and agricultural machines, such as tractors and tube wells.
The increase in the cost of high -speed diesel contributes directly to the rise in vegetable prices and other essential foods.
