The government increases vehicle transfer costs, including electric cars

The federal government has increased vehicle transfer costs across Pakistan, including electric vehicles (VE), with an immediate effect.

The new costs, announced by the Ministry of Finance, apply to traditional and electric vehicles and must be deposited in the designated government account.

Transfer costs for traditional vehicles:

  • Up to 1000 cm3: increased from RS1 200 to Rs2,750.

  • 1001cc to 1800 cm3: increased from RS2,000 to RS5,500.

  • Above 1800 cm3: increased from Rs3,000 to Rs11,000.

Electric vehicle transfer costs:

  • Up to 50 kWh: RS2 500.

  • 51 to 100 kWh: RS 5,500.

  • Above 100 kWh: 10,000 rupees

Motorcycle transfer fees:

These changes aim to rationalize the vehicle transfer process and bring consistency to the structure of costs across the country.

The government has urged vehicle owners to comply with the new cost calendar to ensure smooth processing of transfer requests.
