The Governor of the Sindh donates five months’ salary to the victims of flooding

Karachi:

Sindh governor Kamran Khan Tessori announced the donation of his five -month salary to help the victims of recent floods, news reported on Friday.

In a statement, the governor expressed his solidarity with the communities affected by the floods, declaring: “In this hour of crisis, I am with people who suffer due to devastating floods.”

The governor also announced the creation of a rescue unit dedicated to Governor House to coordinate and supervise assistance activities, guaranteeing timely support reached affected areas.

In a message published on X, he called on all stakeholders to formulate a complete strategy to combat the growing climate crisis with which the country is confronted.

Tessori has confirmed that trucks loaded with essential rescue products and tents are sent to the districts struck by floods to provide immediate assistance to those who need it.

He also called upon Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to build a national consensus on the issue, stressing that a coordinated strategy, beyond political interests, is essential to withdraw the country from the crisis.
