- A youtuber described certain convincing theories on RX 9070 performance compared to the RTX 5070
- This theorization is based on internal internal benchmarks for the RX 9070 and the napkin mathematics for RTX 5070 image frequencies
- If it takes place, the RX 9070 XT could easily beat the RTX 5070 Ti, and even be less than 10% of the RTX 5080
AMD RX 9070 models could easily exceed RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 graphics cards from Nvidia, if a prediction considered to a YouTuber is deployed.
These are Dead (Mlid) of the regular rumor, which in its latest video (integrated below) engages in napkin mathematics to determine where the performance of RTX 5070 and 5070 GPUs are likely to weigh (more on the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti GPU subtleties there shortly). The Youtuber then compares this to the internal benchmarks allegedly carried out by AMD a month ago with its RX 9070 models.
The result is as follows: go through these internal AMD tests – add skepticism with all of this, which means benchmarks, so melody of approximately 3%).
Mlid then took this estimated level of performance and superimposed it on a benchmarks (an average of 17 games) of the non -boxing equipment which includes the RTX 5080. From that, we see that in theory, the RX 9070 XT is less than 10% of the RTX 5080 for raised (unadred tracing) performance with 4K resolution.
In addition to that, the YouTuber added in the tripper mathematics approximations mentioned in the RTX 5070 performance, that is to say that the RTX 5070 vanilla should arrive at around 20% faster than RTX 4070 from Nvidia (so in the RTX 4070 Ti stadium). And that the RTX 5070 TI is probably a rather minor generational uprising, and perhaps slightly faster than the RTX 4070 TI Super.
Admittedly, this adds great uncertainty, and sites and houses, although it is based on sufficient reasoning. (Namely the elevations we have seen for the RTX 5090 and 5080, on average – a strong flavor of architectural gains for Blackwell, in other words – then the relative specifications of the new RTX 5070 models compared to their predecessors).
RTX 5070 performance may not take place like this, but if it does roughly, Mlid theorizes that the RX 9070 XT (based on these internal AMD benchmarks) could potentially be 15% faster than RTX 5070 Ti . And that the RX 9070 against the RTX 5070 could also see a victory for AMD, more up to 10%, but still, a marked victory.

Analysis: Performance means little price
On the right, is AMD therefore ready to own the mid-strain GPU this year? Well, as I have already said a few times – but that has another mention just to emphasize – a large part of this is in air theorization, although the work has a meaning for me. Mlid throws heavy warnings on all of this himself, although the Youtuber claims that he is sufficiently confident in these predictions overall.
We must keep in mind that the graphics used (from non -boxed equipment) are only rhythmic performance. Although Mlid also notes that it is confident that Amd almost caught Nvidia with Ray Tracing in this generation, but another major piece of the puzzle is DLSS 4 and the new generation of Team Green frame. This latest MFG functionality and other DLSS 4 improvements are in fact huge – and that should not be underestimated. We do not yet know how FSR 4, the new Rival generation technology of AMD, will get rid of, and this remains a fairly heavy question mark here.
Another critical point here is that everything is very well analyzing the relative (potential) performance levels in a theoretical exercise like this, but even if it is correct as to the frequencies of comparative images that we will obtain RX models 9070 against RTX 5070, there is the price of AMD to consider. We know the approximate value proposition of RTX 5070 flavors as we have MSRPs, but we do not do it with RDNA 4 graphics cards.
My concern is therefore that AMD will calculate where to launch the prices requested RX 9070 based on NVIDIA RTX 5070 criticisms when they arrive in February (well, if Team Green sticks to his launch period promised for these graphics cards mid -range). The rumor certainly says that AMD is still weighing prices, and the question becomes then: how much does Team Red want to shoot Nvidia in the mid-range space?
If it is a strong pattern here, AMD could come with really competitive PDFs for the RX 9070 models. But, if maximizing the profits and the return is higher in the list of priorities for DNA 4, we could become more heavy as the requested prices.
Who knows is really the point, and the RX 9070 will only be a RTX 5070 killer – assuming that the towel of the Mlid towel and the GPU hypothesis are in the right stadium – if AMD price to be An RTX 5070 killer. I hope it is the intention, and Mlid suggests $ 499 and $ 649 (United States) as possible price labels for a properly aggressive decision with the RX 9070 and its Sibling XT respectively.
Previously, there were hopes of a price of less than $ 500 for the RX 9070, but if the performance shapes something as suggested here, there is no reason that the AMD should drop more than the $ 499 mentioned. And again, it comes back to my concern that AMD can feel free to simply push the prices harder than expected, perhaps, perhaps, if the RX 9070 models exceed the RTX 5070 in this vein.
