Balutchistan National-Longe Party (BNP-M), Akhtar Mengal, was discharged from the theft of a private airline in Dubai, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said on Sunday.
By taking to X, Mengal said that he had been unloaded from the plane while he had been going to Dubai since Quetta and that the immigration staff had told him that his name had been placed in the provisional national identification list (PNIL).
The politician also shared a screenshot of the immigration data where his name was included “with the approval of the competent authority”, with explicit instructions to prevent him from leaving abroad.
Reacting to the development, the former federal minister Agha Hasan Baloch and Ghulam Nabi Mari condemned the unloading of mengal while qualifying the illegal and unconstitutional decision.
“”[Akhtar] The mengal is still a member of the National Assembly; His resignation has not yet been accepted, ”said Baloch.
The Mengal, a political veteran and BNP-M chief, had resigned from the NA in September 2024 for the worsening of the security situation in Balutchistan.
Earlier this year, Mengal had organized a 20-day sit-in at the mastung pass against the arrests of militants of Baloch rights and police action.
His party began a long Wadh march in Quetta on March 28 and protested for almost three weeks against the detention of leaders and activists of the Baloch Yakjehti committee (BYC), including Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen Baloch and had asked for their release.
