Erin Blanchfield had to fight Maycee Barber during the main event of the UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas this weekend, but the fight was canceled for a few moments before the bell rings.
Barber, who is participating in the female flies division, had not fought since March 2024 due to a disease which, according to her, led to a hospital stay of almost two weeks. Barber missed weights on Friday of half a pound and was already ready to abandon 20% of his Blanchfield bag, according to ESPN.

Things took another strange turn on Saturday evening.
Blanchfield said at the Post-EUFC night conference that the Director of Affairs of the UFC, Hunter Campbell, said to his hairdresser, had suffered a crisis a few minutes before she went to the octagon, according to MMA Junkie. ESPN broadcasters said Barber had undergone a medical problem.
“I have the impression of being still in disbelief at the moment,” added Blanchfield, via MMA Junkie. “I feel like I was incredulous yesterday when she missed weight because we have known this fight since January. You could have been overweight of 50 pounds and lack weight.
“So, she missed weight, then she arrives on Saturday. She arrives at the locker room. I am fully ready to go. She is supposed to be ready to leave. So-called now, she has all these health problems when we are supposed to fight. I think it’s pretty crazy. I think it’s not very professional. I wouldn’t want to fight it again.”

Barber has published and re-ray videos on his Instagram page by cutting his return to the octagon. But it has not solved any alleged medical problems on social networks.
PK Press Club Digital contacted the UFC to comment.
Blanchfield was asked if she had advice for Barber.
“I don’t know, she needs to look at another division,” she said. “She needs to repair her life. She just needs to repair herself. I think she is a full mess in all aspects of her whole life.”

Blanchfield has a 13-2 sheet in his MMA career. She beat Rose Namajunas in November via a unanimous decision.
