The help of PM alarmed the increase in polio cases

Islamabad:

The Prime Minister’s focal person on the eradication of polio, Ayesha Raza Farooq, called on Wednesday to strengthen the polio program and make more efforts to eradicate diseases due to increasing cases in the country.

“The epidemic is alarming, six children already paralyzed in 2025,” she said at a meeting of the National Polio Management Team (NPMT) to assess progress, take up emerging challenges and refine strategies for the next national immunization campaigns scheduled for April and May.

“We must remain vigilant, proactive and determined to refine our approaches to stay ahead of the virus,” she added while highlighting the urgency of the moment.

The meeting brought together national and provincial coordinators, members of the basic group and the main stakeholders.

Reunion has strengthened the importance of the participation of the inclusive workforce, the synergy between the essential efforts of the immunization and the eradication of polio, and the membership of the latest recommendations of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG).
