The High Court of Islamabad rejects the surety in the burning case of Kirpa’s wife

Islambad:

The High Court of Islamabad on Tuesday rejected the surety advocacy after the arrest laid by Adil Mehmood, accused of having burned his wife in the Kirpa region of the Federal Capital.

A bench to a single member, led by judge Mohin Akhtar Kayani, heard Mehmood’s plea during which the court was presented with the victim, the dying indication of Sania Bibi.

Sania, mother of three, accused her husband Mehmood and her father Mustab Hussain of having burned her after a stormy argument. Sania’s testimony was recorded while she was under treatment at Pims Islamabad. Based on the dying statement, Sania and her husband were in the middle of an argument when Mehmood dragged her inside the house and Hussain sprinkled her with petrol. Both set it on fire.

According to Sania’s testimony, she continued to shout for help, but none came. It was two hours later that she received medical care. Sania also accused Mehmood and Hussain of having put it pressure to lie and declare that she was injured in an explosion of gas cylinder by going to the hospital.

Her jewelry was taken to the hospital and his attendants – the authors – denied his water until a doctor was interrupted. In addition, Mehmood and Hussain warned him to inform his brothers or do more harm, said Sania, adding that her children’s security was also threatened.

A case was filed at the Kirpa police station on June 9, 2025, after the registration of the Sania declaration.

Mehmood and Hussain were both taken to Adiala prison, where they remain incarcerated. Sania succumbed to her injuries after almost a month of treatment at Pims hospital.

IHC rejected the advocacy advocacy after the arrest laid down by Mehmood through his lawyer, confirming the decision of the district court and sessions, which had previously refused the deposit.
