The Michigan High School football player who was the victim of a bodity click that broke his spine, Colton Mims, visited his teammates before their match on Friday.
Mims, 15, who plays for the High School Lakeshore, was in a wheelchair during his visit. Courtney Mims, Colton’s mother, said Colton had two “light fractures” in her spine in an interview with a local Michigan television channel.
Courtney shared the moment on Facebook.

“The first time to take the ground since !!!!” Courtney Mims wrote. “It’s my big baby! He’s an angel. His teammates are the best example of young men I have seen for a long time.”
Colton was injured when a central Kalamazoo secondary school player jumped on him at the end of a game last Thursday.
Michigan High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) has taken measures against the player for the worrying game.

“Our staff have been talking with the two schools since Friday. Kalamazoo Central has taken this question very seriously and they have taken strong and decisive measures,” MHSAA told PK Press Club Digital. “Due to the laws on the privacy of students, we cannot disclose the specific actions of responsibility, but they have exceeded what MHSAA regulations would otherwise need in the event of dangerous and unusport behavior.
“Our schools can provide additional details because they decide to do so because they manage things internally.”
The player who was the target of the pancake suffered injuries to the spine, according to his mother.
“An incident that occurred during the Kalamazoo central High School junior football match on September 19 was the action of an individual student who posted a blatant act against an opposing team player,” Kalamazoo public schools said.
“This type of behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of the sporting spirit, respect and integrity that Kalamazoo public schools await students-athletes, coaches and the whole school community.”
