- The demand would have been low for the iPad Pro Oled
- This means that there are changes expected to the Apple OLED roadmap
- This year’s iPad Pro Upgrade should be minor
Our 13 -inch iPad Pro review (2024) will tell you that we love the most recent version of the tablet – the first to display an OLED screen – but it is not cheap, and its price would result in a low demand for the Apple Slate.
This comes from analysts of the Meritz Securities industry (via @jukanlosreve), with around 5.7 million units that apparently shipped last year. If it is precise, this figure is down on the nine million units that Apple originally hoped to change.
In addition, the same report indicates that there will not be many changes in the iPad Pro Oled which would have been launched later this year. Although it should get an upgrade to an M5 chip, it seems that everything else will be more or less the same.
Since the device is not soaring the shelves exactly at the moment and will not get a big upgrade this year, Apple would revise its OLED technology plans – with certain products that are manifested and some have rejected.
What is going then

As part of the new calendar, the iPad Mini OLED will appear in 2026, while the iPad Air OLED will jump from 2028 to 2027 – it is if Meritz’s titles and its sources have correctly correct.
An upgrade to OLED technology in the iPad Pro – incorporating something called ESCAPSULATION OLED CAPSULE, to improve performance and sustainability – has apparently been postponed from 2027 to 2028.
While the starting price of $ 999 / £ 999 / $ 1,699 could put potential buyers on the iPad Pro 2024, it seems that Apple will continue to use the most expensive OLED screens. It is believed that the iPad Mini and iPad Air become cheaper OLED technologies.
We have recently seen a new 7th generation iPad Air and an entry -level iPad Refreces of Apple – None of the two is delivered with an OLED screen. If you are wondering which one is the right choice for you, consult our guide of the best iPads.
