The rumor of the iPhone 17 Air is an intriguing handset, because it could be a great success for Apple – or a colossal failure, depending on how Apple balances its construction with its specifications, and the quantity of people who take an iPhone Super vintage. The last leak suggests, however, that Apple may not have obtained the balance for me.
According to Fix Focus Digital – A leak with a reasonable assessment – publishing on Weibo (via GSMARENA), the iPhone 17 air will have an A19 Pro chipset, just like the iPhone 17 pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Except that it will not be quite the same here, because this source claims that the version of the air will have five GPU cores, while the version used by pro phones will have six.
It remains to be seen the difference that it will make, but that would mean that the iPhone 17 air is less powerful than the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max – although probably more powerful than the basic iPhone 17, which would have a non -pro version of the A19.
Battery, screen and camera compromise
But it is not the only air -air compromise, because the same source also says that it will have a worse screen and battery as the iPhone 17 Pro.
They are not precise here on how they are worse, but it probably means a lower battery capacity. As for the screen, it is probably a reference to a previous assertion that they have formulated that the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air would not have a variable refresh rate, and in turn, so probably would not have a display always on – although they will have at least apparently 120 Hz screens.
It is therefore a lot of compromise, and – coupled in the air of the iPhone 17, probably having a rear camera – it would almost certainly be a compromise for me. Really, it seems that only those who appreciate the aesthetics on everything else choose to buy the air.
However, there could be many buyers like that, with Fix Focus Digital predicting that air iPhone 17 will be a success. It will therefore be interesting to see how really it happens. We should discover it in September, because this is when the whole iPhone 17 series should be launched.
