According to a tiept x (via macrumors), the dynamic island of pro and pro max telephones could be about to become smaller. This particular source has no verification to speak, but there are several images to support affirmations.
In addition, in addition to the point collected by a major site of Apple rumors, it corresponds to the previous rumors of several sources according to which the dynamic island would shrink on certain models of the iPhone 17, or at least the evolution of the size and the shape in one way or another.
The quantity of chattering that there has been around this particular modification means that we are more ready to believe that it will happen, although of course, nothing is certain until Apple really reveals the four iPhone 17 models that we expect.
Island history
You may remember that the dynamic island appeared for the first time in 2022 on the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, replacing the notch. In addition to housing elements like the Face ID camera, it also offered a space for iOS and installed applications to display real -time information.
With the iPhone 15 series, the dynamic island arrived on each smartphone in the Apple flagship series, which continued with iPhone 16 phones last year. However, it was left from the iPhone 16th which appeared in February 2025, which used the old notch design.
The dynamic island has not changed since it was introduced in 2022, and it is not clear what would be the advantages of making it smaller – although there would be more real screen space exposed, and ultimately it could disappear completely.
