At this point, it seems quite likely that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a steam room, because from two distinct sources saying so much, we have now seen a diagram.
This was shared by the developer iOS @ lusiroy8 on X (via Phone Arena), and although they do not have many balance sheets for leaks, the fact that it is the third time that we have heard of a vapor room makes us think that there is a good chance that it will happen.
The image itself is not very detailed, but it seems that the steam chamber would be quite large if that is correct, which could mean that it will be designed to keep heat from the storage and the RAM of the phone, as well as the chipset.
A steam chamber – for those who do not know it – is a metal room filled with liquid, and this liquid turns into steam when it is hot. This vapor then dissipates on the surface of the room, moving the heat from the internal components – notably the chipset.
This type of cooling system is already used in many Android phones, but so far, Apple has relied on different and less effective methods to cool its iPhones, with current models based on graphite sheets.
Cooler and faster
Thus, by switching to a steam room, the iPhone 17 Pro Max should be able to stay fresher longer, which could in turn help it maintain advanced performance longer, because once a phone becomes too hot, performance is generally reduced to help it cool. A steam room could also help keep the phone cooler to the touch and prevent heat damage to components.
So there are a lot of advantages in a vapor room, and we therefore hope that Apple will include one. The big question is however to know if all the iPhone 17 models will obtain a steam room, just the pro models, or just the iPhone 17 pro max.
This last leak refers just to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but a previous leak indicated its inclusion in the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the first steam bedroom leak suggested that the four models could have one.
We should find out who – if necessary – see you soon a vapor room, because Apple organizes an event on September 9 where it will almost certainly announce these phones.
