While the world has learned to live with the notch of the iPhone, and the important ones are improved when Apple has gone to a dynamic island, in the end, we bet that most people would prefer a smaller cut on the screen. Well, with the iPhone fold – also known as the foldable iPhone – we could finally get it, and in fact, there could be a camera cut at all in one of the screens.
It is according to Eye leak1122, publishing on the South Korean Naver site (via GSMARENA). According to them, Apple’s current Foldable iPhone prototype has a punch-hole camera on the cover screen and a foldable screen camera.
Being under the screen means that it should not cause an interruption visible on the screen, and this is something that we have already seen on certain phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, but never on an iPhone.
This is not the first time that we have heard about the foldable iPhone having a camera under the internship, but hearing it has increased the probability that this will happen again, and this could increase for other iPhones as well, because this could mean that the days of a massive screen cut are numbered.
No identity document to find
That said, Face ID will apparently not be under the screen. In fact, according to this source, Face ID will not be present at all, the foldable iPhone said it rather has an ID Touch sensor on the side. This is also something that we have heard before.
Beyond that, eyes1,122 claims that the size of the screen on this prototype is slightly smaller than on the previous prototype. They do not specify what size it is here, but a fairly recent leak indicated a foldable 7.74 inch screen and a 5.49 -inch blanket screen.
Apparently, however, the resolutions have not changed, despite a decrease in size, and eyes1,122 adds that the appearance of the foldable screen for this prototype is 14.6: 1, while the cover screen is 14.1: 1.
Of course, even if these details are correct, it is possible that things can change again in future prototypes, because with Apple who should not launch the foldable iPhone before the end of 2026 at the earliest, the company has probably not yet finalized the design.
