The Iranian Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni, expressed his pain and condolences on loss of life due to torrential rains and floods in Pakistan, in particular Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
Momeni held a telephone conversation with the Minister of the Interior Mohin Naqvi and conveyed his sincere sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives. He offered cooperation and assistance to people affected by Pakistan’s floods to his Pakistani counterpart, Naqvi.

“It is deeply sad to see the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan,” he added. “Hundreds of people have been separated from their loved ones.”
The Iranian minister said that his country was on the shoulder with the people of Pakistan. Naqvi thanked her Iranian counterpart.
“Climate change becomes a warning sign of devastating destruction in Pakistan,” added Naqvi. “For the first time in history, Pakistan is going through such a dangerous climate situation.”

KP was hardly affected by sudden floods and heavy rains, which left more than 400 dead, 190 injured and more than 1,600 damaged houses, Buner signaling the highest death. Many areas have been faced with massive destruction and remain inaccessible, leaving countless displaced.
