The judge cancels the convictions in the mango market crypto-fraud

An American judge has canceled convictions on the fraud and manipulation of the Avraham Eisenberg market, the crypto trader accused of having drained $ 110 million in the markets of the decentralized funding protocol now cleared.

Friday, the judge of the American district Arun Subramanian ruled that the prosecutors had not proven that Eisenberg had made false performances on the platform.

He also moved to pay Eisenberg accusations of wire fraud. The investor manipulated the price of the native Mango token of Mango with massive transactions of more than 1,000% in 20 minutes before obtaining the protocol to allow him to borrow and remove $ 110 million in various cryptocurrencies, supported by the inflated guarantees.

The defense of Eisenberg argued that the platform, which worked through intelligent contracts, allowed anyone to transform freely and that it simply exploited a vulnerability. The judge accepted, declaring that the structure without permission of Mango meant that there were “insufficient evidence of falsity” of prosecutors concerning the representation of Eisenberg to the mango markets.

Eisenberg was arrested in December 2022, and although this case collapsed, he is currently serving a four -year sentence pronounced after pleading guilty to the possession of sexual abuse equipment for children.

“From the start, we said that this case was fatally imperfect,” said his lawyer Brian Klein of Waymaker LLP. “We are very happy for Avi that the judge granted our request and rejected the case.”
