The Kaghan Valley witnessed an influx of tourists during the Eidul Azha holidays, with around 60,000 visitors arriving in the region on 12,000 vehicles and 3,700 motorcycles. The picturesque cities of Shogran, Kaghan and Naran were the main destinations of vacationers.
According to the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), the flow of tourists towards the valley continued regularly throughout the three days of Eid. The KDA indicated that around 8,000 small vehicles, 4,000 larger vehicles and 3,700 motorcycles entered the valley during this period.
To facilitate tourists, the KDA has created four tourist facilitation centers under the special directive of the Director General Shabbir Khan. In addition, the tourist police were deployed to manage the flow of traffic and help post-Eid the animal waste to maintain cleanliness in the region.
The KDA noted that the Kaghan Valley has the capacity to accommodate up to 100,000 tourists. Deputy Director Planning, ASAD Shehzad, said that in anticipation of the Grande crowd, DG Shabbir Khan had canceled all the personnel sheets and directed large -scale operations to ensure a smooth traffic flow and full support for tourists. Stacks in the Naran bazaar have also been removed to prevent congestion and improve the experience of visitors.
Meanwhile, following the instructions of the IGP KP, the Mansehra DPO Shafiullah Gandapur deployed 1,500 police officers throughout the region.
