In a horrible incident, the deputy commissioner of Ziarat (AC) Muhammad Afzal and his son were killed by kidnappers on Sunday. The victims were removed last month from the Zizri region in the Ziarat district by unidentified armed men.
The kidnappers recently published a video in which the hostages were seen to argue with the authorities to take an immediate measure for their release, otherwise the kidnappers threatened to kill them.
Ziarat’s sub-commissioner, Zakaullah, confirmed that AC and his son had been kidnapped by the terrorists on August 10. A bonus of 50 million rupees had been announced for information leading to the identification or arrest of the authors.
Meanwhile, the Minister of the Interior Mohin Naqvi firmly condemned the killings, calling the killed officer and his “martyr” son. He praised AC services and offered condolences to the bereaved family, saying that Fzal had reached martyrdom while fulfilling his official functions.
The minister said that the AC killed was a devoted and a worker officer who would still remember him. He added that people behind the murders would not escape the law.
