- Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 is now released
- This includes the expressive redoppsion of Android on Android
- However, these modifications will not be unrolled with the first version of Android 16
Hot on the heels of Google’s Android show, the company has now deployed its new Android look in beta form.
If you have a compatible handset (which means a pixel phone from Google Pixel 6), you can now download Android QPR1 (Platform Quarterly Platform version 1) Beta 1, whose functionality is the new expressive redesign of equipment 3.
This gives Android a brand new look, with major visual changes in the lock screen, launcher, the quick parameter screen and notifications. And these are not only static visuals, as expressive equipment 3 also includes new motion effects.
More sizes, more tiles and new effects
Beyond that, this beta version also has various other changes, many of which have been unearthed by 9TO5google. These include things like new grid size options for the home screen, a reduction in the size of the at A Glance Widget, the option of adding faster parameter tiles and the possibility of adding various effects – such as animated weather effects – to any wallpaper.
So there is a lot here, although the main thing you will probably notice is how much different on Android 15.
If you have registered in the Android 16 Beta program and you have a new or more recent pixel, you must automatically access this beta version. Otherwise, you can oppose the Beta Android page.
That said, it’s a beta version, it will not be as stable as a finished version, so unless you despair of the new Android look, we suggest you wait.
Android 16 should take place in the second quarter of the year – so at the end of June, but the expressive overhaul of equipment 3 seen in this beta version will not be landed before the first QPR update, which should land later this year.
