- The new dummy units of the iPhone 17 appeared online
- They show the glass and metal contours for the pro and pro max
- A substantial overhaul is expected for the two best models
The iPhone 17 leaks and rumors season is indeed in progress, and only a few days after the dummy units of Apple flagship phones in 2025, we have a different lot to pore – which shows the glass and the iphone 17 metal with a little more details.
These new images of the dummy unit are with the kind authorization of Tipster @SonnyDickson, and it seems that we have the four models: the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max (or iPhone 17 Ultra, perhaps).
Factical units like those presented here are based on patterns from the supply chain and give accessories manufacturers a chance to prepare their products for the launch day. They also allow the rest of us to consult the phone conceptions in advance.
Regarding the redesign of the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max – with large rear camera bars – it is a look that has already been widely disclosed. We can also see the smaller camera bar which should appear at the back of the iPhone 17 air.

What these dummy units add, that the previous leaks have not really shown us, is the way in which glass and metal will be combined on these designs of iPhone. You can see a low outline on the Pro and Pro Max models, just below the camera bar.
This section described will be apparently made of glass, allowing a wireless Magsafe load. The other section would be aluminum. This is a whole change compared to the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Meanwhile, it seems that the design of the iPhone 17 will be very similar to the iPhone 16, while the iPhone 17 Air is a brand new phone, replacing the iPhone 16 Plus – according to which we are super more linked – so we do not have a predecessor to compare it.
We have also heard rumors of memory and camera upgrades for these phones, video recording improvements and perhaps a useful inverted wireless load function. Telephones should make their debut in September, and we will have to wait until then to see what really materializes when Apple reveals them fully.
