Regarding the best over-auricular headphones you can buy, our current list includes both the WH-1000XM4 and the WH-1000XM5 of Sony-and it seems that the Sony Wh-1000xm6 pair will be revealed for too long.
According to the Walkman blog (via Notebookcheck), Sony Wh-1000XM6 headphones should be announced in the first or second week of May. However, it could be mid-June before you can order them online or find them in stores.
The same source indicates that the price will be around $ 479. As you will see in a reading of our Sony Wh -1000XM5 review, the current headphones were launched at $ 399 / £ 380 $ 649 to (although they are now cheaper) – we therefore consider a fairly large price increase.
Keeping in mind that the WH-1000XM5 headphones made their debut in May 2022, the follow-up pair was long to come. The model before that, the Sony Wh-1000XM4, was unveiled in August 2020.
What we think we know so far
There is another treat of information from this leak: the WH-1000XM6 headphones will apparently bend, unlike the WH-1000XM5 that we have now. It is a return to the design of previous models, including the WH-1000XM4 and the Sony Wh-1000XM3.
This is much more information on a pair of headphones that we have not heard too much about it so far, although their launch is apparently imminent. A leak that has emerged suggests that the color options will be black, silver in platinum and midnight blue.
Another leak at the beginning of the year highlighted improved Bluetooth capacities and perhaps a more strong and stronger hinge. Our expectations are quite high, since we have been waiting for these headphones for three years now.
As we have also seen the Sony WH -1000XM6 headphones have the regulatory documents browse, it seems very likely that they will be revealed in the coming weeks – and we will of course make you know as soon as everything is official.
