- Windows 11 optional update for March has just arrived
- This preview update packs a fix for a printer bug that caused the product of random characters
- The remedy will be tested in this optional version, then will be part of the complete Windows 11 23:2 hour correction published in early April
Remember that the truly strange printer bug with Windows 11 23:2:2h – The one who gave the impression that your printer was possessed? There are good news for people affected in this last Microsoft update healed this problem.
The glitch was introduced into an update of overview published in late January 2025, which made the printer mysteriously produced pages filled with random characters. This only affected printers that have been connected by the USB, the mind and mainly occurred when they turn on the device – although this has undoubtedly frightened a lot of people.
However, Microsoft has just published the update of the Mars’s preview for Windows 11 – packing a lot of goodies, as it occurs – and this also contains the fix for this strange printer bug.
Neowin reports only in an update of the Windows 11 health dashboard concerning the bug, Microsoft informs us: “This problem was solved by Windows updates published on March 25, 2025 (KB5053657), and later. We recommend that you install the latest update for your device because it contains significant improvements and problems of problems, including it. ”
Analysis: not catastrophic and somehow fun – but always useless
Admittedly, it is far from the worst bug of Windows 11 that we have seen, and the 24 -hour users suffered from all kinds of really strange bugs that are in particular (the players were also ruthlessly under fire). There have also been Gremlins who crawled in the depths of Windows 11, which caused printers to stop working (at least partially) in the past.
At least this problem did nothing as bad as that, and there was even a humorous side, in terms of “possessed printer” aspect. That said, waste paper and ink will not be funny if the bug continues to occur, as it apparently did – without any means of stopping it. It is a very ecological perspective, even on a small scale like this.
In any case, it is good to see that Microsoft has fixed this current key in relatively timely time. However, there is a note of prudence to ring here, namely that the resolution of this printer problem is only in an overview at the moment. These updates, which arrive at the end of the month to test the terrain before the full version of the corrective the following month, are optional for a reason.
The preview updates are always in what is indeed the last step of the tests, so that things can always go wrong with them. This means that this correction may not work as expected or may cause involuntary side effects elsewhere in Windows 11 (this has certainly happened before).
In this case, if the printer bug is something that you find annoying, you will probably want to recover the update of the preview of Mars and try your luck. The good news is that even if you prefer to wait, you will not have to be patient for a long time, because the fix will be contained in the cumulative update of April for Windows 11 23:2:2h (arriving on April 7, so it’s only a week and a half now).
