Mother Nature made her presence known in a minor league baseball match on Tuesday.
The Norfolk Tides faced the Jumbo Jacksonville shrimp (Triple-A affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins, respectively) Tuesday in northeast Florida when a thunderstorm crossed the stadium.

Then, from nowhere, a huge boom of thunder broke out in the middle of the delivery of counteras.
The boom has frightened against (and many others) to the point where Contreras stopped dead on his traces. However, the marble referee showed no mercy and called against a Balk, bringing the runner.
The race has reduced the jumbo shrimp deficit to 2-1, and they would mark a race for the second and third rounds to take a 3-2 lead.

It is hardly the first time that a strong boom has caused a little game disturbance, but the UMP followed the book of rules, and the beginning and the point were means for the call.
However, Norfolk dropped their own thunder and scored three points in the fourth and fifth to lead, 8-3. They finally won a 9-5 victory.

The victory of the Tides was quite upset, because they were 34-49 which participated in the competition, reflecting the lack of success of their big league club (the O are 40-50 after having made the series in consecutive seasons). The Jumbo shrimps are now 53-34, which is promising for the Marlins.
