The lawyer for the crypto Kristin Smith to leave the Blockchain Association for the New Solana group

Kristin Smith, long -standing managing director of the Blockchain Association, a main lobbying group for Crypto policy in Washington, leaves next month to play a role as president of the New Solana Policy Institute, according to an announcement on Tuesday.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and confident that the future of the organization is brilliant,” said Smith in a statement.

Earlier this week, Miller Whitehouse-Levine founded the organization and announced his CEO position shortly after leaving the DEFI education fund.

Although the group has not yet clarified its source of financing, its website has declared that it would focus its message on “how decentralized networks like Solana are the future of the digital economy”.

Smith directs the Blockchain Association for almost seven years – a dramatic period for the development industry. Since the end of last year, political grounds have solidified under the feet of the sector when they find allies who run all levels of the United States government, where crypto defenders have long been trying to obtain a full set of regulations.

The blockchain association was a central player in industry lobbying.

The organization said that its board of directors was now carrying out research to replace Smith.

Whitehouse-Levin once worked in the political operations of this organization.

“The innovators deserve to have the clarity they need to build a global economy without friction and internet-based-a future which, in our view, is achievable with the right laws, rules and executives,” he said in a statement when launching this Solana group’s week.
