World leaders and thousands of Catholic faithful gathered at the Vatican on Saturday to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, who died on Monday at the age of 88. The first Latin American pontiff, Francis led the church for 12 years, during which he pleaded for openness and social justice.
More than 250,000 people visited the Saint-Pierre basilica to pay tribute before the ceremony, which have attended delegations of more than 150 countries.
