- A leak has published battery specifications for the iPhone 17 series
- It reveals an increase in capacity almost at all levels
- The battery levels of the iPhone 17 are much lower than his brothers and sisters
With a little more than a day until Avoping’s “Awe Droping” event starts, we always get last -minute rumors that claim to overthrow the beans on what Apple will announce. The last one is a draft information on the battery capacities of the IPhone 17 series, and it contains fascinating surprises that we have not seen coming.
The information was provided by Leaker ShrimpapplePro on X, which claims to have found the data in a Chinese regulatory database. If this is true, it gives the flight a degree of renowned.
Interestingly, all iPhone 17 models, with the exception of the basic iPhone 17, have two different battery capacities listed. It is believed that this could mean that the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have two different capacities depending on whether the phone is equipped with an ESIM location, the versions without feature with higher battery capabilities. An ESIM compartment is included on iPhone models in certain regions and excluded in others.
We do not know why the iPhone 17 has only one entry and if it relates to a model equipped with an ESIM or one that leaves.
Here is a quick ventilation in a stroke of the different rumor capacities:
Model |
Without esim |
With esim |
---|---|---|
iPhone 17 |
3,692mAh (up 3.7% vs iPhone 16) |
3,692mAh (up 3.7% vs iPhone 16) |
Air iPhone 17 |
3,036mah |
3,149mAh (down 33% vs iPhone 16 Plus) |
iPhone 17 pro |
3,988mAh |
4,252mAh (up 18.7% vs iPhone 16 Pro) |
iPhone 17 pro max |
4,823mAh |
5,088mAh (up 8.6% against iPhone 16 Pro Max) |
The figures suggest that almost all the iPhone on the beach will get an increase in the battery compared to the iPhone 16 series.
The exception is the iPhone 17 air, which could see a huge drop of 33% against the iPhone 16 Plus. This explains by the fact that the iPhone 16 Plus had a spacious battery because of its large size, while the air of the iPhone 17 should be light on the battery forehead because of its thin frame.
ESIM advantages
It is unusual to see Apple bring a higher battery capacity to iPhone models which have an ESIM location – in the past, the company has maintained the battery levels the same, whether your iPhone has had an ESIM or not. But the difference in the iPhone 17 range suggests that Apple will use the additional space released by the SIM card tray to extend the battery size.
If the figures are correct, it will also be the first time that an iPhone has offered a battery capacity greater than 5,000 mAh, with the 5,088MAH of the iPhone 17 Pro Max which have exceeded this step.
It should be noted that a higher battery capacity does not necessarily mean that the batteries of the iPhone 17 series will last longer, because Apple could implement new features that drain the battery more. We will not know it with certainty before the abandonment event on Tuesday, so be sure to connect to see all the latest updates.
