Michael Vick took over the world of university football during his out -of -competition race at Virginia Tech. He continued to play in the NFL for 13 seasons and, after a career in the broadcasting, the Hokies rotated the coaching.
Vick has only three games in his inaugural season in Norfolk State, but speculation has already started to swirl that he could have his eyes on his Alma Mater.
Last week, Virginia Tech separated from head coach Brent Pry after a start to the 0-3 season.

But Vick clearly indicates that he focuses on the task to be accomplished – not the potential future coaching opportunities.

“This team must follow my lead,” Vick told Hbcu Gameday. “My main objective right now is Norfolk State. This is all what we can focus on. I hope they don’t read press clippings or do not turn to what’s going on on social pages, because I don’t do it. We have the Sacred Heart this week. It is the most important thing in our life at the moment.”

Vick’s interest in coaching dates back several years.
Before taking the job of head coach in his native state of Virginia, Vick worked as trainee of coaches under the coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reid. In 2019, he was an offensive coordinator of Atlanta legends in the American football league, now missing.

In 2017, Vick expressed hopes for learning a day of Reid. “But if I could train with someone, I would like to start with Andy if there was an opportunity. Obviously, I would also like the Falcons (Atlanta). So we will see how it goes,” said Vick in May 2017 during an appearance on “The Howard Eskin Podcast”.
Vick ended his collegial career with 3,074 yards by the pass and 20 affected against 11 interceptions. Vick, who has developed a reputation for his racing prowess, also recorded 16 affected affected people during his stay in a Hokies uniform.
