The legend of madness Chris Foreman received an incurable cancer diagnosis.
The legendary guitarist, also known as Chrissy Boy is forced to move away from the group’s concerts this year.
Chris announced that he had received a diagnosis of myeloma, a type of blood cancer affecting the bones and other parts of the body.
The 69 -year -old musician wrote an emotional note for his fans via Madness’s official Facebook page. Updating his fans, Chris wrote on Friday: “Earlier this year, I had intense pain in the upper back and shoulders.”
“On June 28, we played a show in France and it had become unbearable. I had an MRI at the end of June and they found a tumor on my spine. On July 4, I went to the Royal Sussex and I had all kinds of things that did me. I had radiotherapy that exploded and stopped pain,” he continued.
“In fact, I also had a vertebral tap – Rock N Roll! I was not in good shape, to say the least. My kidneys were only 14%, which has improved since.
“Some people have this for 20 years or more. I have a long way to go before I come back to the stage, but I aim to be back next year. The group, my family, my road crew family and my management team were all very loving and united.
“One of the worst side effects is that I cannot drink alcohol, but I have mastered a non -alcoholic Margarita and these zero alcohol beers are not too bad these days. It was really difficult not to be on stage with the group this year,” wrote Chris.
By concluding: “They worked very hard and the emissions look great. I don’t know how they did it without me, to be fair. I will not be able to do Butlins or the tour this year, which is a big damage but ……” I will be back! “CB Foreman – Peacehaven, August 29, 2025 (sic).”
Chris Foreman is one of the founding members of Madness, who was trained in 1976.
