During the last episode of his podcast, the Triple Champion of the NBA, Dwyane Wade, revealed some details on a fear of health he faced over a year ago.
Wade underwent surgery in December 2023 which abolished 40% of a kidney. Surgery was followed by what Wade described as a “shocking” cancer diagnosis.
A complete body scan has confirmed the presence of a “cyst / tumor” on one of the kidneys of Wade.
“And the doctor was like:” you must undergo a kidney operation “,” The 43-year-old retired basketball star noted the edition of the podcast on Thursday “The Why with Dwyane Wade”.

Wade admitted that he had largely avoided seeing a doctor over the years for a physique, but he finally made an appointment once he began to encounter stomach problems, cramps and difficulties in urinate.

Wade’s father, Dwyane Wade Sr., also had a battle against prostate cancer. The former star of Miami Heat said that the experience of fear of health helped him achieve the importance of the family.

Wade has not revealed details on his current health.
Wade retired from the NBA after the 2018-19 season. He is the leader of all times of heat in points, aids and thefts. He was appointed MVP of the NBA final in 2006.
He bought a participation in Utah Jazz in 2021. Wade also joined the Chicago Sky ownership group in 2023 when he became one of the minority investors of the WNBA franchise.
