The Marshal Munnir engages with the Pakistanis abroad during the American visit

Marshal Syed Asim Munnir nor (M), military staff chief (COAS), is currently on an official visit to the United States.

During his visit, the Coas met the Pakistani community abroad at Washington DC, where he was warmly received by a large gathering of members of the diaspora, said inter-service public relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.

In his speech, the Coas recognized the important role played by the Pakistani abroad as Ambassadors of Pakistan.

He underlined their vital contributions to the national economy through funding, investments and their achievements in various global sectors.

During the interaction, the COAS also listened to the experiences and suggestions shared by the community.

He stressed the importance of sustained commitment with the Pakistanis abroad and the need for continuous collaboration to meet mutual challenges and improve cooperation.

The Pakistanis abroad expressed their appreciation for the exceptional performance of the armed forces during the Bunyanum Marsoos / Marka-E-Haq operation, congratulating bravery and professionalism posted by the army.

Tensions between India and Pakistan increased sharply after the attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, India illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (iiojk), which resulted in 26 deaths. India immediately accused Pakistan elements of orchestrating the attack, without presenting any evidence. Islamabad firmly denied Indian complaints calling for an independent investigation.

India then took several drastic measures, notably the closure of the Wagah border, the suspension of the Industry Water Treaty and the revocation of Pakistani visas. Pakistan responded by labeling any disruption of water flow as an “act of war” and sealed its side of the Wagah border.

As the situation gets worse, India has intensified the situation with air strikes targeting several locations in Pakistan. Military of Pakistan quickly responded, lowering five Indian hunting planes, including four burst aircraft and dozens of drones made by Israel.

Hostilities have reached a critical point, encouraging both parties to accept a complete and immediate ceasefire in the United States after days of military exchanges.
