Peshawar:
A high-level flood in the Gol Gol stream in the Morkho region of the Chitral Upper forced the evacuation of local residents to safer places, while strong floods near Drosh closed the Peshawar-Chitral road for all types of traffic, officials announced on Wednesday.
The flood was triggered by the melting of snow on the surrounding mountains. Local administration officials declared that strong flood waters caused significant damage to crops and several connection roads near the stream. However, there was no victim, due to timely evacuation measures.
In Kaldam Shanhingar near Drosh, meanwhile, strong floods closed the Peshawar-Chitral road to all types of traffic.
