The Ministry of Finance refuted reports awarded a declaration to the Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb concerning an increase in wages of government employees, Express News reported.

In a clarification published on Monday, the Ministry said that the Minister of Finance had made no announcement on the prosecution of the National Assembly. He added that the reports suggesting the opposite are “not based on facts”.

“The Minister of Finance has not mentioned any review of remuneration scales or salary increases for government employees in his speech,” said the ministry.

Clarification follows previous reports claiming that the next federal budget does not include any proposal to increase the wages and pensions of government employees.

The ministry also declared that a written answer had been provided to a parliamentary question, informing the Chamber that at present, no proposal is considered to revise the payroll scales or considerably increase the wages and compensation of federal employees during the next financial year.
