A man attending a recent major league football match said that his choice of outfit made him “asked to leave” the sporting event, according to a video published on social networks.

The man, who identified in the video like Michael Weitzel, was seen bearing a red hat “Make America Great Again” to Energizer Park, St. Louis City Sc’s Home Stadium.

“I am Michael Weitzel and I was asked to leave because of Donald Trump’s hat,” he said in the video during an exchange with security staff and law enforcement agents.

A member of the Salle Security team replied by saying that “they are non -political here … they do not want any kind of political messaging”.

Weitzel responded by pointing to a section of fans holding flags and suggesting that the articles were intrinsically political. However, security personnel quickly said, saying: “These were pre-approved.”

The rules of Energizer Park said that political banners were not authorized in the stadium. He mentions nothing of the hats.

Weitzel then wondered if the policies had been applied evenly. After the staff assured Weitzel of the equal application of the rules, he declared that he “was threatened with arrest”, before requesting confirmation that he “was expelled from the premises”.

While Weitzel was heading for the Hall estate, he said: “Trump is not welcome in the Saint-Louis City SC club”.

One of the security employees suggested that he could return to his headquarters if he removed his hat. “If you remove the hat, you can come back.”

“If I remove the hat, can I go back?” Weitzel replied. He quickly removed his hat, but someone from the camera informed him: “We have exceeded this point.” Weitzel then placed the hat on his head.

“It is not his fault. He simply follows the rules,” he said in reference to one of the safety workers. “So that’s what’s going on when you wear a Donald Trump hat during a match of Saint-Louis City SC.”

St. Louis City SC did not publish any public declaration on Saturday about the incident. The team between Sunday in place No. 14 of the Western MLS conference.
