Islamabad:
The Islamabad police said on Tuesday to have arrested the first suspect in the murder of the popular Tiktker Sana Yousuf in the 20 hours after the incident, saying that the teenager had been killed for having repeatedly rejected the suspect’s progress.
According to the police, the murder occurred in a high -end area of the capital, where a masked and armed attacker entered his home in the evening and opened fire before fleeing the premises.
Sana was transported urgently to a neighboring hospital but died of her injuries.
Police initially described the murder incident and accelerated their investigation. According to the Inspector General of the Police of Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi, the authorities used modern technology, including video surveillance and PK Press Club-closets, to retrace the movements and telephone activity of the suspect.
Calling this a very publicized case with significant public pressure, the IG said that law enforcement officials have worked tirelessly and arrested using all the available resources. The arrested person would have confessed during the initial interrogation, and the police recovered the weapon used in crime with the victim’s mobile phone. A case has been registered and officials say that the accusation form will soon be subject to the court.
The Minister of the Interior, Mohin Naqvi, praised the police for their rapid action, claiming that the resolution shows that there is no room for anarchy in the country.
Meanwhile, social media users have reacted greatly, demanding the most severe justice and punishment as possible for the attacker. The followers and supporters of Sana Yousuf called on the government for exemplary measures to dissuade these crimes in the future.
Police assume that the case is processed as a model meeting and that legal proceedings will be accelerated to do justice to the victim’s family.
Originally from Chitral, Sana was a popular Tiktok star. His body was transferred to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a post Mortem exam.
Initially, police said they were investigating the incident but had not yet been able to apprehend the suspect.
They also said that the suspect was perhaps a guest at the victim at the time of the murder.
“The suspect entered the house, fired several shots, then fled the premises,” said the police.
Sympathies and convictions flocked after the brutal murder.
“A young woman Sanaf Yousaf full of dreams, hope and courage was silenced for having dared to exist online. His presence on social networks was encountered by violence, and her life was stolen in cold blood. She deserved to live. To prosper. To speak. We must cry. And we have to get up,” said a user.
