The Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Climate Change has adopted the 2024 climate responsibility bill.
The na panel meeting took place on Wednesday under the president of Munazza Hasan who discussed the bill on the responsibility of the 2024 climate transmitted by the MNA Sharmila Farooqui. The bill of the bill told the committee that the bill was considering business responsibility and that it was aimed at reducing carbon expenses.
The bill proposes the creation of a climate change fund and suggests imposing fines on companies that harm the environment, said Sharmila. The Ministry of Climate Change informed the committee that the fund’s creation process had already started. The secretary recommended that the bill were made to be carried out, which was then adopted unanimously.
At the meeting of the Na Committee, MNA Nuzhat Sadiq presented the Pakistan Bill on Environmental Protection 2024. The secretary of the Ministry of Climate Change said that the Ministry demanded the opinion of the Prime Minister on the bill. In addition, the Law Ministry also adopted the same position.
In addition, the committee requested a detailed briefing on burning crop residues. The director general of the Pakistan environmental protection agency said fines have been imposed on four private housing companies due to a lack of sewer system.
The chairman of the committee asked why the EPA had not taken action during the construction of these housing companies.
