PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said the entire nation stood firmly with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to rid the country of extremism and build a peaceful society.
He expressed these views on Sunday during a meeting with a 20-member delegation of religious scholars and spiritual leaders led by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
PML-Q Secretary General Tariq Hassan was also present at the meeting.
Shujaat said Islam teaches peace, love, tolerance and service to humanity, adding that the armed forces, under the leadership of Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Army Staff Marshal Asim Munir, were engaged in the fight against the enemies of peace.
During the meeting, members of the scholars’ delegation strongly condemned the ongoing attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel, saying that no hostile agenda or conspiracy could succeed in Pakistan.
