On Friday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) published a high wood alert for the Swat river, after the water rejection of the Munda headworks jumped at 101 205 Cuses.
Authority has placed the river in the “High Flood” category, which prompted the authorities to maintain increased vigilance through the north belt.
According to the NDMA, the rapid increase in water levels required urgent precautionary measures, residents of strongly advised vulnerable areas to prepare a possible evacuation.
The provincial Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) warned against low -level to medium -level floods in several dams in the province, urging people living inside rivers to move towards safer soil without delay as a preventive step.
A spokesperson for the PDMA said that the Indus river is experiencing an average level flood at the Chashma dam, while low-level flooding conditions persist in Tarbela, Kalabagh and Taunsa.
In the Chenab river, the flow fell back to the Marala dam but rises to the head Khanki, where the low -level floods continue.
The water levels also increase in the Sutlej river in Ganda Singh Wala (Kasur), with a flow of 64,000 cops, which led to low -level flood conditions.
According to managers, the protective embankment on the site has been affected by overvoltage, specifying that it is only a temporary structure built to tame the flow.
Likewise, low -level floods continue in the Ravi Rivière nullah in Shakargarh, although the flow remains stable. No flow has been reported in the main hill torrents of the Dera Ghazi Khan division.
The Tarbela dam is 96% full and the Mangla dam reached a capacity of 67%, with water levels recorded at 1,546.50 feet and 1,209.35 feet, respectively.
The PDMA DG urged the public to take all the necessary precautions, stressing that individuals residing in the river beds must immediately move in safe locations and cooperate with the authorities in the event of emergency evacuations.
