- Platinum of the E.12 Pro-Projet platinum costs £ 249.00 / € 329.00
- No Bluetooth, not USB, no phono stadium, no automatic operation
- The same basic characteristics as the more expensive pro-projets
Proch makes some of the best decks in the world, and now there is an affordable new model designed for buyers on a budget. Only £ 249 / € 329 (around $ 339) $ 515 at), it is a very low price for a serious platform, although you had to provide your own phono (or an amplifier with a phono entry), which could be a stumbling block for beginners, and perhaps a cup more than ideal when it is to come.
The affirmation is that the pro-project E1.2 Get rid of everything that is not essential, whether it is Bluetooth, USB, any automatic operation or the Phono step as I mentioned above. The emphasis is placed on taking the same basic components as the dear pro-offer plates and platforms and focus only on sound quality per book.
Pro-project E1.2 Turtable: Key functionalities
As its name suggests, the E1.2 is an upgrade of the existing pro-project E1 that I really liked in my Revue E1 Pro-Projet of last year. Its tray is now an aluminum design molded by 730 g with an integrated TPE damping ring, and according to Prochh, it offers a more stable rotation and better WOW and FLUTTER performance.
The sub-platform comes from the first pro-project platform and is made from ABS reinforced with glass for improved speed control and lower resonance.
Reading has a heavy mass cardan bearing for a smooth movement, and it is delivered with a carbon-reinforced cartridge and a pick-it mm e cartridge, which is a new low-mass design with a conical diamond stylus and a miniature neodymium magnet. It is pre-aligned in the factory and apparently offers precise monitoring, smooth tonal balance and reduced distortion.
The E1.2 also has a single button speed control for 33 and 45 rpm, cushion the feet and OFC cables with gold plated connectors.
The base is a solid block of rigid composite fibers, and it is finished in a choice of shiny black, satin white or walnut.
The pro-project E1.2 is launching this month, July 2025. It will be a very tempting proposal for sound at this price, but there could be a little disconnection between the fact that it is so affordable and that it is not particularly user-friendly for beginners could trip a lot.
Yet those who get back In vinyl, could love this budgetary option, or maybe you are looking for a second plate for another room – I’m sure it will find its audience. And for those who want something with a phono scene, the pro-project has a plot Options… in particular, the phono E1 pro-project could be what you need.
There is no word yet on an American or Australian launch, but it will certainly be available in the United Kingdom this month.
